Privacy Policy

Effective 2 November 2026

Who we are

Cista ("we", "us") is an app for iPhone, iPad and Mac made by an independent developer in Canada. Contact: cista.app.info@gmail.com.

Your collection

Everything you add – items, photos, documents, prices, notes and your profile – is stored on your device. When iCloud Sync is on, it is also stored in your own private iCloud account, operated by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. We cannot see or access it.

Share links and Showcase pages

When you create a share link, only the items, details and photos you chose are uploaded to our link server (hosted by Cloudflare). They are shown to anyone with the link and are deleted automatically after the link expires (30 days) or when you replace or delete the link. To limit links to one per person, the server stores a one-way code derived from your iCloud account; it can't be used to identify you. A saved Showcase file you share yourself never touches our servers.

AI features

AI Fill and Remove Background read your photos on your device using Apple technology (Vision and, where available, Apple Intelligence). Photos are not sent to us. AI value estimates send only the item's search words (such as its name and year), its category and your currency to our server, which looks up prices from public price sources (for example eBay, Discogs, Numista, TCGplayer and Scryfall). Results are cached for up to 12 hours and are not linked to you. Estimates are for reference only. You can turn all AI features off in Menu → AI Features.

Advertising (Cista Lite)

The free version shows a few sponsored cards and optional reward videos from Google AdMob. Where the law requires it, you are asked for consent first, and on iPhone and iPad you decide whether ads may be personalised (App Tracking Transparency). Google may collect device identifiers and usage data to show and measure ads – see how Google uses information from apps. Premium has no ads.

Purchases

Subscriptions and in-app purchases are handled by Apple. We receive no payment details – only Apple's confirmation that Premium is active.

Analytics

Cista does not use third-party analytics. Apple may share anonymous crash and usage statistics with us if you allow it in your device settings.

Children

Cista is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

• Turn iCloud Sync off at any time (Menu → iCloud Sync).
• Delete a share link at any time from the Showcase screen.
• Turn AI features off (Menu → AI Features) and ad personalisation off (Menu → Ad Privacy Settings).
• Deleting the app removes the data stored on that device; iCloud data can be managed in your device's iCloud settings.

Report a page

Every shared page has a "Report" link. Reports go to cista.app.info@gmail.com and are reviewed promptly.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
